The opportunity to travel for out-of-town tournaments is something that 314 VBC feels is an important component of a full volleyball experience and is something we plan to continue. While the amount of travel is generally dependent upon the level of team, as older teams will typically travel to two tournaments while younger teams will typically go to one, the destinations and the approaches remain similar. Teams have travelled to places like Chicago, Nashville, Memphis, Kansas City, and Indianapolis. On rare occasions, teams have travelled beyond the regional locations to places like Dallas and Phoenix.
These tournaments provide our players and their families with the opportunity to bond with teammates and other families, have fun and experience different cities, play teams from different parts of the country, play in different environments, and to further challenge themselves in competition.
To quote one of our coaches, "the players won't remember the scores of all their matches, but they will remember the good experience they had with their teammates". This, combined with playing hard on the court, is at the heart of the 314 VBC travel philosophy.
While the schedules have not been set, and the plans are still being finalized for the upcoming season, the 314 Volleyball teams will be travelling and potential destinations include Louisville, Kansas City, and Indianapolis among others.
